Homecoming: Suit or Tuxedo? A Guide for Roanoke & New River Valley Students
Homecoming sits in a weird spot — more formal than a regular dance, less formal than prom. Most students don't know what to wear. Here's the short version.
Default: a sharp suit
For the vast majority of high school homecomings in the Roanoke Valley and New River Valley, a well-fitted suit is the right move. Navy, charcoal, or tan in the fall. Pair it with a tie that picks up a color from your date's dress.
When to go tuxedo
If your school has an especially formal homecoming, or if your group is doing a coordinated theme, a black tuxedo with a color tie/vest will stand out in the right way. Our $120 package covers it.
What looks bad
Suits that don't fit. Sleeves that swallow your hands, shoulders that drop past yours, pants pooling on the floor. Spending 15 minutes with a tailor turns a rental from forgettable to sharp.
Where to start
Walk into either shop — Christiansburg or Roanoke (Valley View Mall) — and we'll walk you through the options. Book a fitting if you want a tailor's full attention.
