Prom Tuxedo Guide for Blacksburg & Virginia Tech Area Schools

Prom season around Blacksburg starts moving the week kids come back from winter break, and by mid-March the most popular color combinations are already booked solid. Here's how to do it right.

1. Pick the color before you pick the tux

Your tie and vest should match your date's dress — not the other way around. Take a photo of the dress (or a fabric swatch) when you come in for your fitting. We carry vests and ties in every prom color from blush and dusty rose to hunter green, navy, burgundy, and classic black. If we don't have your exact shade in stock, we can usually order it inside of two weeks.

2. Book at least a week out — earlier for popular weekends

Our minimum lead time is one week. Inside of a week, pricing varies based on availability and what we can pull together. For the big Blacksburg High and Auburn prom weekends, we recommend booking 4–6 weeks in advance to guarantee your size and color.

3. Group rates are real — bring your friends

If your group of 4+ books together, we put together a group rate. Same color coordination across the whole group photographs much better than everyone matching their own dates independently.

4. The $120 package covers prom

Our standard rental package is $120 and includes a black tuxedo, your choice of color tie, white dress shirt, vest, and pants — fitted in-house by our team. No surprise charges for the vest or tie. Shoes and pocket squares are available as add-ons.

Where we are

Our Christiansburg shop at 782 New River Rd is about 15 minutes from downtown Blacksburg. Walk-ins are welcome, but for a real fitting we recommend booking an appointment.
